Luana Silva

If you haven’t heard of Luana Silva, you’re about to. Luana is Hawaiian for happiness and that’s how this beauty makes you feel. Ever so sweet and sometimes a little shy, Lulu, as she is so fondly called, calls the North Shore of Oahu home. With Brazilian parents she has the right amount of fire and passion, mixed with the Aloha of growing up on the North Shore.

If you don’t spot her tearing up the waves (which she has been doing since she was 3 years old!), you will see her hanging at the Sunset Shack with friends, riding her bike along the beachfront, or tucking into a poke bowl at Pupukea Grill. Even though she grew up in paradise, she still says Barra De La Cruz in Mexico is her favourite surf spot, while The Arctic was the coolest place she’s ever been!

Her best achievements so far are recently competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics held at Teahupo’o, also earning her first WCT Final appearance as a runner-up at Bells beach. As for the future generation of surfer girls, she hopes they will continue to push the limits. “It’s been amazing to watch this next generation of girls always pushing the limits, it certainly makes me want to be better. Women’s surfing is changing, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.” Lulu, our island princess with a sweet smile, simultaneously shreds in the surf.
