Firdaus Rahman for Clockenflap Hong Kong

Welcomed by cool weather, skyscrapers, the amazing skyline, and not forgetting pumped up festive-goers, it was a pretty surreal feeling when I first set foot onto Hong Kong for the Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival. Billabong and Element Skateboards had sponsored the 2-day Skate of The Art segment of the festival, and I, alongside fellow skater, Geng Jakkarin were invited to make a special skate appearance.

When there, we had a mini-ramp set up and held a small demo session with the good folks of Sk85ive2. We had an intense 2 days of demo and managed to skate alongside some random party-goers who pulled off a series of really sick tricks! Everyone, including the country’s most esteemed media came out to checkout the skateboarding scene and it was definitely a great feeling being able to share our passion of skate with everyone else.

Beyond skate, we also managed to catch a few music acts on the other stages. Some of our favourites are the one and only Del La Soul, Alt-J and other amazing artists from both Hong Kong and beyond! What can I say? Hong Kongers really know their music!

I’d like to thank everyone there who brought us around – especially the Billabong HK team! Hong Kong is definitely one of the best places to pay a visit, so when you can, I would recommend a visit to the orient!
