About: There’s plenty to say about San Clemente’s own Dane Ward—nice guy, committed surfer, part of San Clemente’s surfing dynasty, etc.—but none of these things really mean much unless you’ve seen the kid tear apart Lowers. When you have one of the world’s premiere high-performance waves literally nestled in your backyard, your surfing tends to improve. As of late, Dane’s been logging his fair-share of frequent-flyer miles traveling the world over doing contests and photo shoots, and if you looked at the cover of the latest issue of Surfing Magazine, you might have noticed it’s paying off.
