Morag Steele
Nickname : Wouter
Favourite spot?: West Coast and Koel bay.
Best thing about your lifestyle as a surfer? I get to face my fears, learn about the physics and chemistry of our planet and find desolate areas where I can strip down and just be natural.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Wearing the bare minimum on a tropical island looking after coral reefs with the help of my still to come Earth Sciences degree and maybe a vidoegrapher and partner in the mix too.
Other than surfing? I plant vegetables and I just joined a mother’s hip hop dancing class. Everything I do is basically dependant on my mood.
On a Saturday morning you can find me… Stroking my plants and pleading for them to grow, working at the Billabong shop in Somerset mall (looking at new ranges mostly J) or running around some beach in search of waves.
What’s your superpower? I will not speak of such powers to the human race but I can say that limitless stregnth is among them.
If you found R100 on the floor, what would you do with it? Buy goggles, a snorkel, scentless bubble bath and a buchu plant.
Did you have a New Year’s resolution for 2009? If so, what was it and how is it going? No.
What is your guilty pleasure? Sterling Spencer. Joke he’s just one of my favourite surfers and has a sick style in all aspects.
If you could choose any 5 people (over and above your friends of course) to have at your birthday party, who would they be?
1.Mohammed
2.Einstein
3.Ghandi
4.Buddha
5.Jesus
My years of retirement will be spent… Creeping on young boys.
If I had a star on Hollywood Boulevard, it would be right next to… I don’t even know the purpose of those stars let alone who has one…
The thing that makes me me is that I… I don’t have toes. My DNA and the billions and billions of nucleotides that it is made up of.
One thing I would never travel without is… My body… and maybe my brain…?
My biggest achievements so far are…Waking up and seeing a new dawn everyday is a big enough acheivement for me and also such a blessing. The earth is such a small place in proportion to the rest of the universe that I think everything we have and are is an incomprehensible miracle.
