Hugo Charbit has been at the heart of the French wakeboarding scene since he burst onto the scene a decade ago. Now an elder statesman of the sport his regularly updated video clips of his travels and tricks, plus his course designer and consultant roles at the annual FISE events have kept the multiple French champion at the very forefront of the sport.

He is still learning though, taking inspiration from the new generation of riders, as well as from his other love skateboarding. “My training is still really simple,” he smiles, “Just have fun and learn new tricks each and everyday.” He is still doing that heading to the PWB Planete Wake Board and TWP Thai Wake Park in the winters and shredding his local, RCP Rouffiac Cable Park, every chance he gets. He calls his existence “a crazy, perfect life,” and lives the line that, “Life is too short to be bored.” And wherever Hugo Charbit is, life is never boring.
