Interview:
Favorite break?
Quite a few! Snapper Rocks, Rifles, L’iles aux vaches, La Torche would probably be the main ones…
What’s your favorite move?
The inverted Moonwalk, but switchfoot.
Who’s style influences your surfing?
Andy Irons (who will always remain the biggest surfing legend for me!), Dane Reynolds, Wade Goodall & Neco Padaratz.. (haha just kidding).
What’s your best surfing memory?
There’s too many of them… Probably the epic two days we had at Rifles in the Mentawaii Islands! Perfect glassy 8ft righthander with big barrels all the way through… and with friends! What more to ask? Oh yeah, Bintang. And we had some…
What are you doing when you are not Surfing / Riding?
I go to Uni, go to work (I sell NSPs for a living at the moment, it’s pretty awesome), I try to be creative with a little bit of video editing (whenever I get some footage!) and I listen to music, a lot!
Music getting the most play lately on your Ipod?
I love Rihanna and also JLS… ‘lol’, no my favorite bands would be Animal Collective, Jefferson Airplane, Sunset Rubdown, The Velvet Underground, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Twin Shadow, Washed Out, Toro Y Moi and a few others! I love The Shaggs, too.
Last movie you played on your computer?
‘Thrills, Spills and What Not’, the latest Dane movie. People will probably hate it but I like it!
Last surfing trip?
Went to Indo for a month and a half during Summer 2010… Bali, Sumbawa and Mentawaii Islands… It was pretty sick! Unfortunately haven’t had the budget to do much more lately, but I can’t wait to travel, do something exciting and get some coverage/footage!
Last Time you were scared?
I surfed Bournemouth Pier the other day and it was at least 2ft+. That was pretty scary…
Last time you were stoked?
Last time I ate a pack of Maltesers and it was pretty awesome. So crunchy yet so tasty… hmmm
Last party you had?
Life is a party, but the last one involving alcohol was last November for the UK Pro Tour award ceremony I think? It was a while ago, yeah I’m trying to stay healthy at the moment, so I can keep looking beautiful and super fit you know… Fame doesn’t come easy!
Something to add?
My favorite food is Indian food, and I also love beer (Guinness in particular). I also like avocados and I miss my dog!! Rest In Peace O’neill
