Art Gallery.

Design For Humanity is about the fusion of creativity and solidarity, celebrating artistic expression and pushing the boundaries of art and style.

For this project, 3 European artists have collaborated with Billabong by creating an artwork around the Design For Humanity theme. The canvas were displayed to the press during the Design For Humanity event in Paris on November, 8th 2007. Each piece will be turned into an exclusive Arty Series tee shirt sold to the benefit of SurfAid organisation available in store in July 08.


DFH Gallery Andy Ward is an English artist who mixes naïve art with cartoonography in a coloured, groovy universe.
He’s an illustrator for different music labels, notably on the jazz scene for the re-editions of Blue Note, his work breathes the air of Portobello Road where he lived for a long time before moving to Italy. He is also the creator of the Super Barrio character in the cartoon co-produced with Bob Jarod for the group Plaid and he’s got other animation projects on the go.


DFH GalleryArtist from San Sebastian in the Spanish Basque region, BLAMI has worked for years in the fashion world.
His work’s been exposed in various Spanish galleries (such as Iguapop in Barcelona) for prolific creations that mix different techniques: gluing, paint, graffiti, drawing, detours. This fan of Soulages, Yamamoto, Le Corbusier, Basquiat, Harring and of course Oteiza, keeps the unbridled and fun creative tradition alive.


DFH GalleryJean-Michel TIXIER is a well-known illustrator in the French music world.
He’s designed covers for artists as diversified as Sébastien Tellier, Syd Matters, Chloé, Le Klub des Loosers. A dark universe that knows how to make you smile, notably influenced by Topor, Tim Burton, René Laloux or Folon. He also produces video clips and has signed the videos of the groups Verone and Hushpuppies.


8 Billabong graphists and designers have also brought their artistic vibe to the Design For Humanity project. Their original pieces of artwork were also featured at the DFH event in Paris.
