SINGAPORE, March 8, 2012: One onion, three bird's eye chilies. That was the Asian recipe for perfect weather the weekend of the 5th Annual West Side Jam presented by Billabong in Singapore, 3-4 March 2012.

Held at the Raffles Marina on the western coast of Singapore, the annual triple wake championship organized by Maxout Hydrosports saw international and regional pro wake athletes from Australia, Canada, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, and the US battling it out for bragging rights in the wakeboard, wakeskate and wakesurf categories.

As the sun beat down, hundreds of sun-kissed competitors and spectators alike cheered in unison as Billabong Team rider Shawn Watson (US) triumphed, beating defending champions Padiwat "Bomb" Jaemjan (THA) and Collin Harrington (US) for the Men Wakeboard Open Crown.

Other than spectacular show on the water, the festival's fringe activities over the weekend jam included fun inflatable rides, lucky draw raffles, competitor beer pong contests and its signature sunset closing party with music by Pushin'On DJs Shellsuit & Chunk, Darren Dubwise (Syndicate), JNR Tirso, and Dub Skank'In Hifi, accompanied by Aidan Bamrah on the percussions.
