THE BEST WORLD TOUR EVENT EVER IS COMPLETE

Professional surfing really doesn't get any better than this. After an epic day yesterday, Teahupoo got even better as 10 - 12 foot sets graced the lineup along with perfect conditions for the final day of competition at the Billabong Pro Tahiti.

Every heat saw 9 plus rides along with scary wipeouts, leaving everyone involved speechless...except for Kelly Slater who managed to say "this is the best World Tour event I have ever seen."

And he just might have been right, because if you watched John John Florence and Kelly Slater trade barrels in their Semifinal battle you will not forget those images for a long long time. Here's the photos and the video, with much more to be added.

Congratulations Gabriel Medina, the 2014 Billabong Pro Tahiti Champion. And a big congrats to Owen Wright, winner of the 2014 Andy Irons Award for his incredibly committed charging throughout the event.
