Mostly everyone likes to reminisce about the year of Code Red and the jaw-dropping free surf session that changed the limits of what's possible in a barrel. And while that is all good and fine, almost everyone seems to forget about how incredible the last day of competition was that year. Less than 12 hours after the earth shattering tow sessions finished, the few contestants left paddled out and bravely accepted the challenge at hand 10 - 14 foot Teahupoo bombs, each one just a little more hollow than the last.
We will never forget that day. No contest has seen charging like that, and it's debatable any contest will see charging like that again.
Thus, we leave you with this incredible footage.
