Local riders congregated at Wave House Sentosa on 3 September for the Billabong Asian Flow Series Qualifiers, presented by Sony Ericsson. A truly life changing event, this qualifier have selected the best riders from Wave House Sentosa to represent Singapore in the Flow Championship in Wave House Durban, South Africa this October. Billabong rider Alfian Affandi who clinched the Men's Expert Flowboard position along side Rip Curl's Arthur Kor said, "I'm really glad to have emerged in the top positions today. Everyone went big today so there's a lot of pressure throughout the various heats. I'm looking forward to Durban and reuniting with riders from other countries."
While its a qualifier, top 3 positions are rewarded in each division to applaud the phenomenal effort put in by the riders.

The Asian Flow Series Finals will unfold on 1st October with riders representing Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Saipan. The winners of the finals will be declared the Asian Flow Series Champion and represent Asia in the Flow Championships at Wave House Durban from 5 - 9 October. Competition manager Joe Ang remarked, "The Asian Flow Series represent the adoption of the Flowriding League of the World (FLOW) standard across all the participating regional venues. With this event, riders in the Asia Pacific region will be able to train and compete more effectively against their peers from other parts of the world."
