Pevi Korea Journal day #1
Billabong's skater Pevi Permana departs for Korea to compete in the International B3 Action Sports Championship – World Leisure Games ChunCheon 2010. Here's Pevi's trip journal, in his own words.
It's been years since I've been to Korea. I depart from Jakarta and my home is in Bandung, it's about 2 hours away so I must take a bus to go to Jakarta's airport and I almost missed that bus hahaha.
I'm a moslem and I am fasting, I hope I am strong enough to fast while competing in Korea.
I arrived in Korea at 8am local time. The trip from the airport to the hotel took about 3 hours! Turns out the hotel is really far away in the mountains. People here rarely speaks english, but my english is bad anyway so I guess that works okay hahaha.
At 12 I arrived at the hotel, I took a rest and headed for the skatepark. It was raining so I had to wait again until the park is dry then I gave the equipments a try.
It was really big! I haven't really got used to it because in Indonesia we don't have skatepark this big. A lot of people don't believe that there are a lot of skateboarders in Indo but there are no international standard skatepark at all.
After I finished my runs I went back to the hotel and rest in preparation of tomorrow.
